Summary
A palace is the centerpiece of a player's city. A player's palace level starts at 1, with a worker capacity of 30. To increase the maximum laborer population, the palace must be upgraded.
As a player increases his or her palace level further, more goods are required. Bricks are always needed, but other goods are needed at various levels. Baskets, pottery, sandals, cosmetics, jewelry, perfume, and limestone are all goods that can be required to upgrade the palace.
Specialization Points
At level multiples of 3 beyond 0 (1, 4, 7, 10, 13, 16, 19, 22), one specialization point becomes available.
A player may go to the palace view by clicking on his or her palace. In the palace view, specialization points may be assigned. A specialization point can be used to increase the production speed of any good or material by 2% per point. Note that you cannot assign specialization points to wheat, bread or raw materials your city cannot produce.
Specialization points may be reset to allow for a different good assignment, at the cost of 250 bread per level. For instance, at level 10, 2500 bread is required to reset specialization point assignments.
Palace Upgrade Requirements
Note: For palace levels 4 and above, your warehouse needs to be at the current level of your palace to upgrade it.
Player Titles
When any of a player's capital (starting) city reaches a certain level, his or her title changes. Initially, a player's title is "Vagrant".
The top ten players automatically have the "Pharaoh" title.
Titles, by capital city palace level:
- 1 through 3 -- Vagrant.
- 4 through 6 -- Villager.
- 7 through 9 -- Craftsman.
- 10 through 12 -- Overseer.
- 13 through 15 -- Commander.
- 16 through 18 -- Scribe.
- 19 through 21 -- Noble.
- 22 -- Pharaoh.

City Residents
As you upgrade your palace level, you will gain different residents in your city:
- A juggler at palace level 10 or higher.
- Crowds of people: 1 at palace level 1 and one extra crowd every three levels: at level 4, 7, 10, etc.
- Market people when you construct a market.
Immortality
When you have fully upgraded a palace, you unlock the option to construct a tomb for your Pharaoh. This effectively retires and deletes your account, but leaves behind traces of your legacy.
The size of the tomb is tied to your ranking at the time of retirement. The higher your rank, the more impressive your tomb will be. The tombs are seen via the nome level, and show up in the capital nome of the Pharaoh in question. Details are displayed via the Hall of Immortality page.
When a Pharaoh is immortalized, the name is also permanently retired, meaning that no one will be able to ever use it again within that world.
