Units
From Nile Online Wiki
There are five units in the game: laborer, ship, charioteer, archer, spearman, and envoy.

Laborers
Laborers are used to produce other units and buildings in Nile Online. Laborers appear in players' cities and grow at a rate of 3 per hour until the current palace laborer limit is reached. Laborers can be sent via the exchange (via the "to monument" link in the exchange) to monument sites. The city laborer population at this point will start growing again to again reach the palace laborer limit. While assigned to work in a shop, field, etcetera, a laborer will eat 1 bread per hour. If there is not enough bread to feed all your working laborers, production output is reduced.
Ships
Ships are constructed in the exchange. They take approximately[1] 25 cedar, 25 bread, and twenty (20) laborer-hours (or twenty laborers in an hour) to construct.
Note: due to a current Nile Online bug, a player's first ship takes 26 cedar to construct.

Military
The military in Nile Online consists of the archer, spearman, and charioteer. They are trained at the archer barracks, spearman barracks, and charioteer barracks.
Archers take four labor-hours (or four laborers in an hour) to train, and require 3 cedar and 2 leather.
Spearmen take four labor-hours to train, and require 3 bronze and 2 leather.
Charioteers take four labor-hours to train, and require 5 cedar and 5 bronze.
Based on strong anecdotal evidence, charioteers are currently the most powerful unit. Spearmen are the second most powerful, and archers are mowed down all the time!
Military units can be used to donate towards the bandits nome event and to take over monument sites/raider camps.
All military units eat 1 bread per unit per hour. If they do not receive this bread, they will start deserting at a rate of 10% per hour.
Military units can be sent both between cities and monument sites and between monument sites and other monument sites, but they require 2 bread per hour's travel in order to be induced to move.

Envoys
Envoys begin to appear once the Palace reaches level 7. They can be sent on Quests and Adventures. Envoys can bring back Bricks, Scarabs, Items, and Construction Bonuses from an expedition. Most quests require Luxury Goods, but sea expeditions require Ships and Bread.
Some advise doing the Nome Exploration quest first, then doing the others.
