  • Page for Live version of Nile Online

?--Agamemnus 18:09, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
Not sure what that's about. Do you think there should be a page about what Nile Online is, as well as what Tilted Mill is? They do the same thing on Wikipedia. Amun Nefer 04:33, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
There is already a page for both. See: http://www.immortalcities.com/nileonline/wiki/index.php/Main_Page and TM.

Agamemnus 14:26, 25 March 2009 (UTC)

I guess that's ok for the NO page. The page for TM is very well hidden though, anywhere it can be put on the main page? Btw, I put in some details you left out. Btw, what about a page for ArmEagle's Script? Amun Nefer 18:54, 25 March 2009 (UTC)

Proposed Home Page Change

I think the Main Page should be slightly re-ordered to make the Help for New Players more easily found higher up the page. I would propose:

  • Help for New Players
  • Commonly Used Tools (removing Direct Trade for Beginners)
  • Gameplay by Topic
  • Special Topics
  • International Help

--DarlingBri 12:32, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

Pretty good idea, I like the order, but I'd put gameplay before tools. I agree that DTfB doesn't belong in tools as it's a thread. Amun Nefer 15:22, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
I actually already moved DTfB to Help for New Players (it is really helpful) so I just wanted to kill the duplication. I'm fine with making Gameplay higher up in theory. In practice, it is a LONG list to scroll past to get to the Tools, which is such a short list I thought it made more sense first. But I'm not going to have a cow about it :) --DarlingBri 15:28, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
Ah, well if it's about size then I guess I see your point. But we also have that nice little Table of Contents. You can change it if you want though, either way is good. Amun Nefer 15:52, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

Proposed Special Topics

  • Best god
  • Best side of the Nile
  • Cedar... why did it have to be cedar?
  • Ship sinking and its repercussions:
 a) Has the game strayed from its roots? (roundtable discussion)
 b) Cedar is still the worst
 c) Do you seriously think we can be bought off by the chance of a few baubles?
 d) OMG! That is IT!!!! I've had it up to -->HERE<-- and I'm NEVER coming back! NEVER!!!!
  • Is Agamemnus actually a sheep? - The evidence so far
  • Reminder that south is actually up

--Agamemnus 01:19, 13 January 2009 (UTC) Lol, nice... #2, #3, #4, #5, & #7 are pretty good...

General Suggestions

A serious suggestion: linking to Wikipedia articles on Ancient Egypt where appropriate, e.g. nome - it's actually a Greek word and there were only 42! --Rothuko 01:46, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

"Where appropriate".. hmm.. :). That could conflict with Nile Online Wiki links if it isn't appropriate. Sure, I support adding links to Wikipedia, but only where the link could not otherwise refer to another page or subsection. For instance, in the "gods" section, I linked to each Egyptian god in Wikipedia. However, if their name was in a different section, I would link to the gods section. --Agamemnus 04:35, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
There's no reason to use wikipedia. That are many better versed sites on ancient egypt out there.--Andrelvis 03:44, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

On Inactive Cities

I was wondering about information with cities. There's a way to set yourself to Vacation, but if you don't what becomes of the cities? What becomes of inactive or derelict cities and accounts? Sakkano 21:49, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

Tie Ins

Since the game is educational in nature, would it be possible for TM to link though the Wiki little extras, perhaps? Things like a formula on creating authentic sounding names for cities, indepth profiles on the gods, or possibly something that would allow users to obtain a basic hieroglyph font and information as to how to write with them. Sakkano 21:49, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

Well, you could try making some of the words links--the links for gods in the gods page go to Wikipedia...--Agamemnus 04:51, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Other Languages Pages

Those wanting to add pages for more languages may want to follow this: In the main page, put the following translated to the desired language: "[[Languagename-speakers|For Languagename-speakers]] (note: don't translate the first "Languagename-speakers") In the created page itself, put (translated to desired language): "If you need help, contact one of the Language-name speakers below in the game:" and put the list. Note: the formatting I did for the list itself was: Playername (FirstCityNomeCoordinate/OtherCitiesNomeCoordinatesFromLessertoGreater).

Of course, these are just suggestions on how to add new help for languages. If you have a better idea, use it :) --Andrelvis 17:46, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

I added the Spanish and French translations of "International Help" to get across what the section is for in case someone can't understand the term. I figure having it in three languages will atleast give some idea on the menu. Amun Nefer 05:44, 26 March 2009 (UTC)

Navigation changes (categories, templates etc)

I think that we should use more often "templates" instead of redirects. I maded Market article which is included into Buildings page. Market page also includes upgrade costs, but those aren't displayed on Buildings entry. Categories could be used to generate some kind of menu under of each article. Navigation could be much more effective and so on. --Blinkkin 01:04, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

New world Theoris open!

Nile Online is officially live! The new world "Theoris" can be accessed by registering an acount.

Special Thanks

"Special Thanks to Agamemnus for writing much of this Wiki". (AMUN NEFER said this! :P)

Yup I did, but why is my name in caps? haha Amun Nefer 04:52, 26 March 2009 (UTC)

Script Page

You guys think I should I move the script page to Commonly Used Tools section or leave it in Special Topics? Amun Nefer 05:40, 26 March 2009 (UTC)

Nubian Traders

There is no page for these. I know the prices they trade for recently changed. Is it possible to start a page and link it to the market or something? Right now they are trading raw lux mats at 10 bread per and lux goods at 18 bread per -- Jaguar 17:09, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

It appears that Nubian traders redirects to Nome events, which really has nothing to do at all with Nubian Traders. Jaguar 17:27, 5 June 2009 (UTC)
