Talk:Upgrade costs

From Nile Online Wiki

Jump to: navigation, search

I think there is an error here. The "Founding City" table says that you need 250 boats at a level 17 exchange. However, if you look at the Exchange Upgrades table, L17 only holds 212 boats. (L17 gets you over 250 laborers, but not boats.) So either Founding City table is showing the wrong exchange level or the exchange table is wrong.

Good catch! The laborer capacity and ship capacity were switched for some entries. --Agamemnus 07:08, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

Another error

In the luxury shop upgrade costs, level 11 laborers should be "104" not "119" I can't figure out how to edit the table.

Thanks. In the future, you can go to e.g. "Template:upgrades_luxury_shops" to update it. PS: You can sign your message by typing four* "~". --Agamemnus 20:58, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for the tip...nice work on the wiki, BTW.
PS: and after a little searching on MediaWiki, you need two hyphens, a space, and then four tildes. five only gives the timestamp, not the user info. -- JoelofDenial 23:16, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
My bad, I always confuse that.--Agamemnus 18:08, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

Palace Upgrade template

I suggest that the template be modified to add a column for "necessary warehouse level" (appropriately abbreviated) to account for the game changes in 0.55/.56.

That would remove the need for the rather unclear comment above the table, and simplify it.

-- JoelofDenial 14:06, 11 February 2009 (UTC) I'll just add a note right now, as this is likely to be changed.--Agamemnus 17:59, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

Nice update

Aga: nice formatting update in the tables. Looks great. -- JoelofDenial 14:06, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

should we note which palace upgrades cost scarabs?

I think it would be useful to add a column to the palace upgrade table which showed which upgrades required scarabs - the info is currently in the scarab page in words, but a graphical representation would be nice - and there is no mention of scarab cost in the page as it is now.

-- JoelofDenial 17:50, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, if you want to do that... maybe a column with the scarab icon and the amount of scarabs needed. Same for city upgrades...--Agamemnus 18:10, 27 February 2009 (UTC)
Done. --Blinkkin 18:56, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

Google spreadsheet no longer available?

Clicking the link takes you to a page that says the spreadsheet is not published.

Merger?

I'm just bringing up the possibility of a merger between the buildings page and the upgrade costs page - it seems to make sense, and would make related information made more convieniently available. Discuss. --Hyrim 07:47, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

....but it would get huge and harder to manage... maybe someone (most people?) only wants to see one thing or the other thing...besides, what would you do with city founding costs?-- Agamemnus 06:46, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
ok then how about this: Example Table here, why am i suggesting this? well it makes it easier to see the relevant effect of an upgrade, and allow comparison between what wheat field level is required to sustain a particular bakery level for example - and without adding much clutter. --Hyrim 07:27, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
Hmm, well, that might work...Agamemnus 01:24, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

Small clarification

Just added a little note to remind users that the Limestone Quarry is limited to level 12. I just came across this limit in the game itself, and although the Wiki mentions it in the description of the Limestone Quarry, it's not mentioned next to the upgrade costs table. I think the Google spreadsheet should be changed as well, but I'm not sure how to do that. Hope this is ok - it's only the second time ever I've tried to help update a Wiki! -- Saiph 16:43, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

Update: I just tried updating the Google spreadsheet, and it's simpler than it looks. I've added a small note to the upgrade costs table there as well. -- Saiph 16:55, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
